Great list! It seems like you summarized what we went through before setting off for our trip.

Planning it’s not that easy and it can be quite stressful at times, but once you are out there traveling it is so worth it! 🙂

I loved and hated planning this trip. I loved it because of all of the excitement that comes with looking forward to traveling. I hated it because it was, indeed, so stressful at times!

This is so cute! Love this “infographic”, though I’m pretty sure we did everything out of order and crammed most things on this list into the last 2 months before we left… except the researching… that kept me going for YEARS! 😀

Hahaha, the researching and buying stuff is what I loved most!

Great list! I am such a sucker for travel gear. It is terrible, but I just can’t stop buying sink plugs, zip off cargo pants or sleeping bag liners. Even once I realized that I haven’t used some gear I still can’t bear the thought of throwing stuff away. Have I got a psychological disorder perhaps? 🙂

Maybe you need some travel gear counseling. Do you want to talk about it? 🙂

I’m planning my next big trip and this has made me super excited! I’m in the 7 months to go stage so keeping on budget is getting harder, especially with summer on it’s way.
I love your point about not needing sexy travel pants! I’ve been trying to tell people this for years but they still fork out for a pair of ugly pants that sit in the bottom of their backpack while they wear normal clothes!

Budgeting is hard! But you know it’s worth it which makes is easier, sort of.
Traveling doesn’t mean you have to dress like you’re going to climb Mount Everest every day. You’re still you, you’re just in another country.
