Landscape of Mongolia: Skulls

There is something magical about the landscape of Mongolia. It calls for you to come and explore. The landscape constantly transforms, leaving you breathless from the moment you wake up until the moment you crawl back into your gertent.
This is a collection of the skulls I found while exploring. Click here for more incredible pictures of the landscape of Mongolia.

Stunning pictures! I never really considered Mongoloa as a travel destination, but it seems to be an up and coming destinaton. Can you travel independently through Mongolia or do you need to go with an organized tour group?

Not a lot of people think of Mongolia when planning a trip, that’s one of the reasons it’s still so beautiful. You can travel independently, but you will need a car or motorbike to get around and it’s not easy traveling. Most people (including us) go with an organized tour. But in Mongolia that doesn’t mean you’ll be stuck in a minivan with 50 other people. Most of the time it’s just you and maybe another couple.
Up until now, Mongolia is the most beautiful country we have visited.

Skulls looks some kind of scary but roadside altar looks unique one. Is this on Mongolian style?

Yes it is. If you pass it you are supposed to get out of the car, walk around it three times and throw rocks on it for good luck.

Really nice pictures!
I will be visiting Mongolia in September this year.
I’m still searching for a nice tour to participate in.
Could you tell me something about the tour you participated in?
Did you book the tour in Mongolia or did you arrange it before your trip?

I hope the email I send you helped you out!

To be honest, I can’t remember. It’s been almost a year ago. I do know that we did a lot of research before we picked one!
